In the last 12 years I have expanded my work as an independent chartered educational psychologist in order to offer an enhanced service to schools, children and families in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. My professional qualifications include a Masters in Educational Psychology (University of Exeter), a PGCE in Primary Teaching and a BSc Hons in Psychology (University of Southampton). I am a member of the British Psychological Society and the Association of Educational Psychologists. I am also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

With my teaching background and having worked as an educational psychologist for over 19 years in both the independent and local authority sectors, I have developed a wealth of experience in supporting children and families to develop solutions and improve outcomes. I pride myself on being approachable to both adults and students alike. As a parent of teenage children, I feel that I am able to empathise with students of all ages, as well as have a personal understanding of the challenges we face as parents. Having taught for three years in London and worked very closely with teaching staff across a wide variety of settings, I feel confident that I am also able to appreciate the reality of working in a busy classroom.

I continually keep myself updated in current developments in education and psychology through training and research. Whilst the majority of my work has tended to focus on the more traditional role of a psychologist to work with individual cases, I also maintain a significant interest in action-research and have initiated and facilitated a number of projects for schools and their communities to promote wider-reaching and lasting outcomes. This has included research into the education and well-being of Service children and their families, as well as the development of nurture groups in a number of schools and school partnerships as a means of promoting the social and emotional health of pupils. I maintain further interests in the strategies and systems that foster children's thinking skills in order to increase their ability to learn independently, to solve problems and to self-regulate their learning.
